Debby Teason

Deborah Teason: Musical Director, Arranger

Debby Teason, who arranges for and coaches Pan Jam & Lime, is a composer and music educator who has played steel pan since the early 1990s.  She was the founding director of the renowned St. Luke’s Steel Band, the Highville Charter School Steel Band, and currently directs the steel pan programs at Neighborhood Music School, the Foote School, Choate-Rosemary Hall and Yale. Ms. Teason also performs regularly with Mimosa Steel Pan Duo.

Alex Teixeira

Alex Teixeira: Tenor, Double Seconds

Alex joined PJ&L in Spring 2009. She manages finances for the band and can sometimes be seen carrying our equipment to and from Trinidad, where she grew up. She studied Chemistry and Biology at Boston University and is now pursuing her PhD in Experimental Pathology.

Tammy Pham

Tammy Pham: Tenor, Cellos

Tammy joined PJ&L in Fall 2011 after she stumbled into rehearsal one day and became hooked to playing these bizarre and magnificent instruments. No matter how busy the week is, she always looks forward to Wednesday nights in the Af-Am house. You can usually find her with the Vietnamese Students Association, performing with Phoenix Dance Troupe, or in her room thinking about Cognitive Science (and playing online games).

Rachel Perfecto: Tenor

Rachel Perfecto is a senior in Saybrook College double majoring in Astronomy & Physics and Music. She joined Pan Jam & Lime in her junior year after having never played the pans before and has loved it ever since. Outside of PJ&L you can see her perform on the oboe in the Yale Symphony Orchestra and the bells of Harkness Tower as a member of the Yale Guild of Carillonneurs.

Daniel Henick

Daniel Henick: Tenor, Double Seconds, Six Bass

Daniel is a psychology major in Calhoun. He plays bassoon in the YSO and is also on the Ultimate Frisbee team. He’s had a great experience playing steel drums at Yale because rehearsals are fun and relaxing, and the music we play is challenging and exciting!

Kyle Wiley: Tenor

Kyle Joined PJ&L in Fall 2013. He has played steel drums through high school and college in Arizona and has enjoyed playing with a new group at Yale. He is currently in his second year of studying Biological Anthropology at the graduate school.

Zach Augenfeld: Guitars

Zach is from Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, NY, a neighborhood known for its large West Indian population, so he grew up around a lot of soca and calypso music. He played classical and jazz piano before studying the vibraphone, then switched mallets to play steel drums at Yale. He used to design digital audio effects, but now is getting his PhD in biomedical engineering.

Christal Sohl

Christal Sohl: Cellos

Christal joined PJ&L in Fall 2013, and has been delighted by the easy-going, fun personality of the band as a whole as well as the lack of negative consequences of her having mostly forgotten how to read music. Christal received her Ph.D. in biochemistry at Vanderbilt University, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Pharmacology Department at Yale University School of Medicine. She secretly admits it is sometimes nice to think about things other than science.

Ross Federman

Ross Federman: Drums, Six Bass

Ross joined PJL in Fall 2013.
